Cyclone of Exuberance

( A poem a day, every day for a month #16)
Out of a long estrangement
I lost my willingness to suffer
Never an ingenue
I discarded the stiff
limiting postures of perfection
A carnival of animals
Larger than life
stretched out of the shadows
and in the rhythm of a warm up
Cheerful vultures
comically small
duck-dived, then disappeared
the smell of orange blossoms
and stars fired up
Led me into this
thrilling dance
