This day is the opening gambit, the entrance to a gate. On the other side is everything you’ve been wanting to be, to become.

Ask for more help. You have a very loud team of cheerleaders. You can relax, you don’t have to do this all alone, nor can you.

You are a creative badass.

Ask yourself, what would Prince do?

I will tell you, and it’s definitely going to be badass.

What scares you illuminates the gate you need to go through. No one else can take you through it.

Study the ways that those you admire have been bold and then imagine you too have these qualities, for you do.

Be audacious. Make up your own genre, your own path.Your art is not like anyone else’s, nor can it be. Nor do you want it to be: You will be more satisfied being yourself with all your flaws and limitations.

Success by imitation will leave you hollow and feeling always hungry for something that other people’s opinions will never give you.

Ask yourself, what is required of me in this moment to be braver than I’ve ever been?

Since you are already making up this life of yours, why not decide to make it into a really juicy story?

Worry less, or better yet, not at all, about what is true and who did or said what, or what is wrong with you and in need of fixing.

Spend your energies living a story that excites and enlivens you, that makes you wake up and come fully alive.

The more you strive to be alive in every aspect of your life, the more you will find the energy, the direction, and the means to be bold.

Being held back by fear is for the faint- hearted. You are more than ready to break out. You are already a badass.

Breaking out isn’t about straining or striving or putting your nose to some punishing grindstone.

Being bold is about letting yourself love what you love — as Mary Oliver wrote.

Being bold is about relaxing into what you enjoy, give it time, reveling in the enjoyment of it.

Being bold is about allowing what you love to be what you do and how you live.

Apologize for nothing, be more of yourself, with flair.

More flair.

Every day, in every way, add the flair.
